Description

Created by Karen Lindner, the designer believes that these pencils resemble tiny magic wands..... It dates to the mid to late 19th century, and would have been kept on chains that hung from a "chatelaine" - a clip or pin that held all of a woman's most important implements (coin box, match case, pencil, pad of ivory sheets to write notes on, keys, etc).

By moving the turquoise-beaded center ring, it retracts if desired.  The turquoise-beaded top also has an amber glass stone, and twists off to reveal a hollow center where the leads were kept.  It has been placed onto a custom designed gold-filled 18" chain with turquoise stations and 2" extender.
