This framed Official First Day Cover was authorized by The Seeing Eye and Jockey Hollow Stamp Club in 1979.  The cover is signed by Joseph Csatari, the artist who designed the postage stamp.

The 15-cent commemorative stamp honored the 50th anniversary of the founding of The Seeing Eye and depict a Seeing Eye graduate walking with a German shepherd guide dog.

The stamp is affixed to the cover, which reads "Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Seeing Eye Dogs, 1929-1979". Below that is a picture of Buddy, the first Seeing Eye dog, and the caption "Buddy I: First Lady of The Seeing Eye." Below that is a quote from Morris Frank reading: "As surely as those pioneers who discovered lands and ideas for the world, 'Buddy I' rediscovered the world for blind people."

Mounted above and below the cover are labels telling the early history of The Seeing Eye.

Jockey Hollow Stamp Club was established in 1972 in Morristown, NJ, joined the North Jersey Federated Stamp Clubs, Inc on October 4, 1972, and the next year joined the American Philatelic Society (APS) as chapter 867.  The Club has continued meeting in Morristown, NJ, ever since.

The club was involved with the campaign for the Seeing Eye Dogs stamp (Scott 1787) issued in Morristown on June 15, 1979. Two members participated in the First Day Ceremony.
