Description

This is a block of 10 poster stamps issued by the Blind Service Association of Chicago, Illinois. (Poster stamps are slightly larger than postal stamps and were not used as postage, but rather for advertising or some other purpose.)

The stamps are blue, orange, and white. The top row of five stamps depict a hand holding a lit torch. Emanating from the flames on the torch is a ray labeled with the words, "A torch of light and sunshine to the blind". Below that reads, "Blind Service Association, 127 No. Dearborn St., Chicago 2, Illinois". Across the bottom of the stamp reads "Help the Blind".

The bottom row of stamps have an iamage of a man holding a cane in his right hand and the handle of a guide dog in harness in his left hand. The text reads, "Blind Service Association, 127 No. Dearborn St., Chicago 2, Illinois", and below that, "Founded in 1924". Across the bottom of the stamp reads, "Non-Sectarian / Not For Profit".
