Bootycandy for Two at the Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, PA

Item Number: C456
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
"Bootycandy" is a production at The Wilma Theatre in Philadelphia, Pa., with mature themes.
When audience members enter the Wilma, they are invited to encounter somebody else’s story, or idea. They are invited into an act of collective reflection and imagination, to consider the lives, conflicts, circumstances, passions and ideas of others. With that goal in mind, the Wilma Theater is thrilled to produce to Philadelphia audiences, writer/director Robert O’Hara’s original work, Bootycandy– a wildly imaginative anthology of sassy lessons in sex ed, a kaleidoscope of sketches that interconnect to portray what its like growing up gay and African-American. With variety-show vivacity, outrageous humor and real heart and soul, it tests how we talk about human desire and racial stereotypes at home, in church and on the corner.
See the play the Washington Post describes as "Unexpectedly uproarious! Funny, smutty and enticingly subversive!"
