Derek M. Taylor was born in Wahiawa, Hawaii and moved to California shortly after. He played football at Bishop Montgomery High School and during his junior year he suffered a low back injury that was debilitating. 

A chiropractor helped him become pain-free and this inspired him to pursue the field of chiropractic.Dr. Taylor was trained and certified in the Nimmo Receptor Tonus Technique (Travel Myofascial Release work) prior to attending chiropractic school.

Dr. Taylor has lectured nationally since 1993 on the subject of health and nutrition.  He is currently licensed for chiropractic in the state of California where he is director of the Taylor Chiropractic & Laser Center. Dr. Taylor also holds licenses for chiropractic in the states of Ohio and Hawaii.
