Special Instructions
Born in Spain, Maria moved to the US in 1981 and became a television producer (for series such as “Cops”, 1989, still shown today, and “Code 3”) and writer, and was a member of the ATAS (American Television Arts and Science), the AFI (American Film Institute), IDA (International Documentary Association), and NAFE (National Association for Female Executives). She was also an Honored Member of the International Executive Guild.
Since an early age she had ‘that love’ for the Arts in any form: dance, music, writing..., and, especially, for color. Her paintings are all about color. She was a natural artist who painted what she felt at the moment, not caring much about details. She was all about memories, observation, creativity, expression and colors. Her work was presented at juried exhibitions (Bowers Museum, Santa Ana, Blinn House, Pasadena, CA) and curated shows (“Epics in Color”, L&J Gallery, San Gabriel, CA, and “Urban Nature”, The Hangar Galleries, Santa Monica, CA).
In July of 2009 she participated in a group exhibit at the Women Club of Pasadena. At the time, she wrote: “I love the title of this special exhibition, “Amazing Women”, because I believe that each and every woman is amazing. From mothers to executives, from women in the military to factory workers, nurses, nuns, teachers, doctors and receptionists, rich and poor; young and old, in every one of them you will find amazing women, women that have overcome difficult times in their lives and made the best of it, women who have sacrificed something for the well being of others, women with tenacity, willing to fight for what is right.”
Maria loved her husband, her family, her friends, with intensity. She loved her dogs: Oliver, Oscar and Otto. She was opinionated, decisive, generous, funny and warm, a joy to be with. Her untimely death left a huge void in the lifes of all her family and friends.
