(2) Acupuncture Treatments for New or Returning Patients
Use them both for yourself, or bring a friend!

Tucson Community Acupuncture is part of a growning movement to provide affordable acupuncture in a community setting.

What is Community Acupuncture?

Acupuncture has been a community based medicine for most of its long history. In Asia, acupuncture has traditionally been practiced in group rather than individual settings. For acupuncture to be most effective, patients need to receive it frequently and regularly—far more frequently and regularly than most insurance plans will pay for. As acupuncture has moved toward the mainstream, it has been forced into a paradigm of one-on-one treatments and high prices, which has decreased not only patient access but treatment efficacy.

Tucson Community Acupuncture is part of a growing movement of clinics that are returning to this tradition. Community acupuncturists focus on using “distal” points (below the knee and elbow, and on the head and neck) so that patients can remain fully clothed during treatment. Community acupuncture clinics often use recliners rather than treatment tables, which many patients find more relaxing.

Welcome to Tucson Community Acupuncture!

Our mission is to provide affordable, high quality acupuncture to the Tucson community. We do this by offering individualized treatments in a quiet, open setting and asking you to decide what you can afford on a sliding scale. We want you to come often enough to really be able to get better and stay better, and the sliding scale is our way of helping you make that commitment.

You can book an appointment online or call us at 881-1887 to schedule a visit. We look forward to seeing you!

TCA is excited to be offering two books written by our community acupuncture compatriots. Why Did You Put that Needle There? is a wonderful, pocket-sized book that answers some of the most frequently asked questions we hear at our clinic. Written by Andy Wegman from the Manchester Acupuncture Studio, this is a great book to browse through while waiting for your first visit or to buy and share with friends.

Acupuncture Is Like Noodles explains not only how acupuncture works, but how community acupuncture clinics work. Written by the founders of Working Class Acupuncture in Portland, this book is for patients, acupuncture students and prospective acupuncture students, licensed acupuncturists, other medical providers, and anyone else who is curious about the “calmest Revolution ever staged.”

A portion of each book sale goes to the Community Acupuncture Network, a non-profit organization that supports community acupuncture clinics around the country. Pick up one up at your next visit to TCA.
