Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC's: Fall On Me
One of the Leading Artists in Gospel Music Presents The Soon-To-Be #1 CD & DVD Project of 2009! On May 2, 2009, a crowd of Lee Williams fans overflowing with excitement gathered at the historic Temple of Deliverance COGIC in Memphis for the live videotaping and recording of Fall On Me an evening of electrifying music and worship overflowing with the Spirit! Each Fall On Me performance is a testament to the incomparable power and purpose of Lee & the QCs coast-to-coast ministry that brings hope and healing to people who hunger for the Gospel. Billboard s continuing recognition of the sales of the 5 previous CD/DVD projects from 8-time Stellar Award winners Lee Williams & the Spiritual QCs can mean only one thing - Fall On Me represents 2009 s most sought after Gospel music release from one of the industry s most sought after artists!
Seemingly an overnight sensation when they exploded onto the national scene in the mid-`90s, Lee Williams and the Spiritual QC's had actually been paying their dues since 1968. The years of experience shine through in every nook and cranny of FALL ON ME, which incorporates the best elements of `60s, `70s, and `80s R&B into a bluesy sound that is full of the Spirit. From the rump-shaking soul-blues-style groove of "So Good to Me" to the old-school churchin' rave-up "Another Chance," FALL ON ME finds the QCs and Lee Williams's Otis Redding-esque voice in top form.

Gospo Mixx: A Collection of Gospel's Greatest Hits DVD
This month we review the DVD Gospo Mixx. If you have not heard of this project, don’t feel slighted you are not alone. This DVD is a hidden jewel that has not gotten the attention it deserved. It is titled “A Collection Of Gospel's Greatest Hits.”
On the back of the cover to the DVD you will find the follow – “Gospo Mixx, The first brand ever to feature the greatest male vocalists in Gospel Music today. This first series is kicked off with two of the most unique, electrifying, and spirit filled voices in the industry, Melvin Williams of the Williams brothers & Lee Williams of Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s. This collection of extraordinary songs includes phenomenal performances by The Williams Brothers; The Canton Spirituals; The Christianaires; The Texas Boyz; Slim & The Supreme Angels; Spencer Taylor & The Highway QC’s; The Bolton Brothers; Neal Roberson; Bishop Paul Morton & The Greater St. Stephen Mass Choir; Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites; Doug Williams; and Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s.”
The above paragraph really captures the essence of this DVD. The songs MCG Records chose for this DVD are all favorites with gospel music fans. In addition, since February is Black History Month, what a better way to celebrate the music of a people than to have this DVD collection of today’s superstars of gospel music.
The video begins with Cooling Waters. The entire uncut version of this concept video is on this DVD. Quartet enthusiasts have surely seen the video on television, and may have it in their collection; however, clarity of this video on the DVD is spectacular. The plot of the concept video of Cooling Waters is very easy to see in this recording. So, the song becomes more than just a great song, but it delivers a great message.
Slim & The Supreme Angels are next with Over Yonder. This is the title track from the CD and video Over Yonder. Gregg Kelly and Slim really put a great deal of energy into this song. And yes, it is classic Slim.
Melvin Williams then takes center stage with the song Never Seen Your Face from the Brothers’ The Concert video. The mimes play an integral part in the delivery of this song.
Harvey Watkins, Sr. joins his son in the singing of Heavenly Choir. This clip from The Canton Spirituals’ Live in Memphis has always be a favorite among their fans. On the Gospo Mixx video, the song seems to have a “freshness” to it. It just might be that it was on VHS before, and now it is on DVD.
Paul Porter shows why he is in such great demand with the next clip from The Christianaires’ “Stand Up, Live!” project. The song that was chosen to be on this DVD is Going All The Way. It seems that the song is a little longer on this DVD than it was on the Stand Up, Live! project.
The Texas Boyz certainly deserves to be in the company of these great artists. And they hold their own with Don’t Stop Praising God.
The current number one group in the country takes over with Running For My Life. Even after hearing this song over and over, it was a treat to see Lee Williams and The Spiritual QC’s performing it on this DVD. This song will still minister to you. The longevity of the strength of this song is probably due to its strong message.
Yes, the Doctor was in the house. No DVD of “the greatest male vocalists in Gospel Music today” would be complete without Doc McKenzie and The Hi-Lites. Doc and The Hi-Lites contribute Sow Good Seeds to this DVD. The song was so popular that the audience could easily sing background, and they did. This song is a great choice for this compilation DVD.
He’s Blessing Me by The Gospel Four is the next clip. George and his group make in clear that they deserve to be in the company of these great vocalists. In addition, George was one of the producers of the songs of Lee Williams & The Spiritual QC’s, Slim & The Supreme Angels, and Doc McKenzie & The Hi-Lites that were chosen for this DVD.
The Legendary Spencer Taylor & The Highway QC’s contributes He Said to this project. This is followed by The Bolton Brothers’One More Time.
Neal Roberson's He Didn’t Have To Do It is the next clip. This multi-talented artist is at this best with this song. Neal is followed by Bishop Paul Morton & The Greater St. Stephen Mass Choir. The choir sings His Yoke Is Easy.
Doug Williams closes out the DVD with Mary Did You Know. On the DVD Doug is singing lead and background. So, at times you have Doug standing at four (4) microphones at the same time. Only today’s technology could have made this possible.
Overall, this is a superb DVD and it deserves to be in your collection. We give Gospo Mixx A Collection of Gospel's Greatest Hits a 9.5 out of 10. Click on the picture above to view a clip from the video.*** Click HERE to order the DVD.
