Description

Trains and switchyards are still in use today but this graphite drawing evokes images of a far earlier time. Western Expansion depended on the railroads; a town's lifeblood was its railway station, and superhighways were yet to be born. Trains were the conveyors of people and goods all across America - they represented possibility and growth. On this snowy day, these seemingly idle trains are just waiting to be loaded and put into service, keeping the Midwest humming along.

Train aficionados, history buffs, and admirers of 'the good old days' will appreciate this print based on a photograph. In addition to drawing and photography, Minnesota-based artist Tom Hessel is also a talented painter. Visit his website to view more of his work. http://www.tomhessel.com/

Piece is matted and framed to 21x19 inches; actual print is 17x12.

Piece is a signed and numbered print of a graphite pencil drawing.
