The African American Museum in Philadelphia is the first institution built by a major United States city to house and interpret the life and work of African Americans. Our doors are open for your enjoyment and enlightenment six days a week. The museum is located in the City's historic district, right on the corner of 7th and Arch Streets. We are one block from the National Constitution Center and Independence National Historic Park, three blocks from the Liberty Bell and a short walk from the Pennsylvania Convention Center.
