Sand, sun, surf, food and RUBBER DUCKIES! Mrs. Bowman and two (2) lucky students will join Mrs. Vermeeren, Mrs. Gorsage and their winning bidders for an off-the-pier fundraiser; the 21 st Annual Duck-a-Thon! Begin this philanthropic adventure with lunch at one of the famous restaurants located on Main Street in downtown Huntington Beach. After dining, head over to the pier where you will be able to launch your very own rubber ducky off the Huntington Beach Pier. Turn the tides yellow and help raise money for the HB Alta Med clinic. Your duck will not be alone as it makes a splash into the Pacific Ocean - it will have 4,000 rubbery friends all trying to catch the biggest wave to shore. Once your duck has made a splash in the deep blue sea, race to the shoreline to see if your duck is one of the first to hit land. The first 60 ducks to make landfall will win their owners a special prize! But whatever place your duck comes in, you are sure to be a winner when you spend this fun-filled afternoon with our fabulous 5 th grade team on Saturday, May 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
