About Aerial Silks
Aerial Silks (or fabrics, chiffon, tissues.... whatever you want to call it) is a beautiful and exciting art form that is quickly gaining popularity. It's a great way to get in shape while having fun. There are no requirements for strength or flexibility to take class, just a willingness to try something new. Once you get upside down, you just can't get enough!
About Polly Solomon
Polly Solomon has been working professionally in theater for over twelve years both on stage and behind the scenes in some of New York City's biggest venues and throughout the NY tri-state area. She received her BA in Theatre Arts from SUNY New Paltz. While studying there, she started training as an aerial acrobat and incorporating her new found art form into dance and theater pieces. Polly now teaches a wide range of circus skills to students of all ages in school, after-school, camp, and studio settings along with coaching gymnastics for Asphalt Green on Manhattan's Upper East Side. She has developed countless pieces for herself, for theatrical and circus productions, and for her students. Polly is an active member of the American Youth Circus Organization (AYCO) through which she has presented workshops at national and regional events. She will be the Showcase Director for AYCO's upcoming national festival in Seattle, WA this summer.
