Description

Black kimono 100% silk top.  Size medium. Designed by Seattle clothing designer Lisa Vian Hunter- contestant on the last season of NBC's "Fashion Star!"

Throughout life Lisa shared her love of vintage fashions with her mom, Darlene Vian. Never forgetting her dream, in 2002 Lisa entered the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in San Francisco. While caring for two young children, she earned a fashion design degree and graduated in 2004.

Upon graduating, Lisa started her business in custom clothing which led to the development of her own collection of dresses and separates. She and her husband Scott opened their first boutique in Palo Alto in 2006. With a desire for a more outdoor lifestyle, they moved to Seattle where they opened Vian Hunter House of Fashion in Madison Valley, an upscale boutique neighborhood in Seattle.

Lisa was selected to participate in season one of NBC’s Fashion Star which aired nationwide on March 13, 2012. During the show, Lisa’s “Trudy” dress was purchased by Macy’s and sold out even before the show aired on the West Coast. Her designs include a line of little black dresses along with a full collection inspired by the classic style of Audrey Hepburn.

Lisa loves European fabrics and works with textile mills in France, Italy and Spain among others. When speaking of fabrics, she says, “Beyond the brocades, which are amazing, I love silk charmeuse. It's slinky and reminds me of the bias cut gowns that Jean Harlow wore in the 1930’s.”
