Description
You and a guest will be treated to lunch at one of Annapolis' finest restaurants and a tour of the Maryland State House with Annapolis' own Senator John Astle. Join Senator Astle, a U.S. Marine Corps Colonel (retired), recipient of two purple hearts, 31 air medals and a presidential service badge on this behind the scenes tour of the beautiful Maryland State House, the oldest state capitol still in continuous legislative use and the only state house to have ever served as the nation's capitol. The Continental Congress met in the Old Senate Chamber from November 26, 1783, to August 13, 1784. During that time, George Washington came before Congress to resign his commission as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the Treaty of Paris was ratified, marking the official end of the Revolutionary War.
Special Instructions
A certificate will be provided to the winning bidder. Tour to be arranged at a mutually agreeable time directly with Senator Astle's office.
