Description

The Doris and Don Fisher Collection is one of the largest and most important private collections of late 20th century art in the world. Soon much of the collection will move to SFMOMA, so come and see it now up close and personal. This is your opportunity to get a private tour of this amazing collection at GAP corporate headquarters with the curator who knows the collection intimately. You will begin at the 5 story tall Richard Serra acoustic sculpture, "Charlie Brown, " once host to an aria sung by Bono. Then it's on to a guided tour of the two main galleries as well as an exclusive tour of the art on the rarely visited boardroom floor. This collection contains works by contemporary masters such as Roy Lichtenstein, Agnes Martin, Gerhard Richter, Bruce Marden, Sol LeWitt, Andy Warhol, Alexander Calder, Chuck Close and Ellsworth Kelly. Along with the thrill of viewing this unparalleled collection, you'll hear stories about how the Fishers met and supported the artists and about the challenges of housing a world-class art collection in the midst of a working office building. After the tour, you will be hosted to an elegant private cocktail reception and dinner upstairs in the View Room. The view is unparalleled as is the delicious food. This really is a one of a kind experience.

This Live Event Item offers Absentee Bidding.
