From Chet Atkins to Brian Setzer; Neil Young to Pete Townsend; and don’t forget George Harrison and Lou Reed…Gretsch guitars have been seen in the hands of Rock n’ Roll’s greatest. This ain’t no banjo – this is a part of rock history! (Long hair and tight pants not included.)


 



  • This classic Gretsch Silver Jet electric guitar model G6129-1957DMS with appointments dating to the similar model made in 1957. Features include G tailpiece, double pickups, and chrome-plated hardware.

  • Silver Jet refers to a jet engine at a time when everyone was flying propellar planes & jets were new to commercial aviation and the public.

  • The silver covering of the guitar top was the same material used to cover Gretsch drums & this was a Gretsch first to add covering to a guitar top in this way.

  • Many famous guitar players played the Silver Jet then....and now.

  • This Silver Jet guitar has been in the Gretsch family for 10 years and has been well cared for during this time. Gently used by artists visiting the Gretsch studio in Savannah over this time period.
