Baileyana Firepeak Vineyard 2006 Syrah - one 1.5L bottle

Item Number: 320
Time Left: CLOSED

Description
Syrah grapes from our Firepeak Vineyard provide our winemaker, Christian Roguenant, carte blanche when it comes to making highest quality, cool climate Syrah. Located in the Edna Valley at the foot of Islay Mountain, the last in a chain of extinct volcanoes known as the Seven Sisters, the dark vineyard soils are known as the "dirt of the devil." We have three clones planted here, and Christian blends them each vintage as he sees fit. The consistent result is a velvety, well structured wine, reminiscent of a true Syrah from the Northern Rhone region in France.

Baileyana’s Roots
Among the first to plant grapes in the Edna Valley, Jack Niven founded his family’s wine business
in the early 1970s with Paragon Vineyard. His wife Catharine caught the bug from him, and planted
a few acres in their front yard. Her project grew into what is now Baileyana Winery.
