Description
Imagine 6 beautiful kids taking a tour of a fire station right here in Thousand Oaks & Westlake! This has always been a popular destination for young ones. Meet the fire fighters, check out the trucks, see where they sleep and cook. Turn on the siren, ring the bell (do they still have one?).
This is totally cool! The fire fighters are there to talk with the kids, demonstrate safety and challenge their minds. And to top that off - they'll be serving ice cream too!
Parents are encouraged to attend.
About Station 31
Fire Station 31 serves the Westlake area of Thousand Oaks.
Originally it was located at Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Erbes Road (now an auto service business). The station was moved east in 1977 to its current Duesenberg location after Fire Station 30 was built. This move more effectively distributed fire protection in the Conejo Valley.
In 2001, Squad 31, with two Paramedic / Firefighters, was put into service at Station 31.
The Westlake Fire Station is staffed daily by five firefighters and houses an engine (Engine 31); and a squad (Squad 31).
