Jeff Luque is a self taught artist from Jacksonville Beach, Fl. He started painting when he was 23 by going to a craft store and buying a 24" x 36" canvas, a couple of brushes, and a couple of paints.
"I am a non traditionalist using a hatchet to cut through art. My expression is painting and I am constantly developing my skill, experimenting with colors and teaching myself to better express my language. Each painting is both a learning experience and is also defining my body of work. Once my painting is on the wall, it is up for the viewer to take form it."
He has a main focus on the human form. He uses the form in geometric shapes for juxtaposition and the lines of the body to accent the geometric shape of the work. He has shown work in Florida, North Carolina and here in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
