Description
Spend the day on the “Father of All Waters.” Up to four (4) people can cruise the Mississippi River between Bellevue and Dubuque, IA (Pool 12). Explore the Main Shipping Channel as well as the miles of back waters, sloughs and pools created by the Army Corps of Engineers over 100 years ago. Your Cruise will include a shore lunch on one of the Island Beaches and more tidbits of history and information provided by your “River Rat” Guides than you may care to hear.
Then cap the evening with a one-night stay in a romantic whirlpool & fireplace suite at the Country Inn & Suites in Galena, IL.
Special Instructions
You may choose any day in the month of July 2013, but beware--the Mississippi River is still an unruly expanse that does pretty much what it wants to, so picking a day should include input from your guides, Steve & Daz Kovalec.
Your boat will be either (or both) a 1960 Vintage Holiday House Boat with over 50 years of Mississippi River Cruising and/or a 16’ flat bottom outboard ideally suited for exploring remote areas.
Hotel stay is based on availability, and is valid Sunday thru Thursday only. Not valid on holidays or special events. Does not need to be used on same day as boat trip. Hotel redemption must occur by December 1, 2013. Hotel is located at 11334 Oldenburg Lane in Galena, IL. Suite includes whirlpool tub, fireplace, refrigerator, microwave, complementary high-speed internet access, coffee maker, cable television and breakfast.
