Description

Three nesting bowls carved from American black walnut. Bowls carved by local Chester Springs artist Don Finn. Don carved these bowls utilizing the method of woodturning, which dates to around 1300 BC when the Egyptians first developed a two-person lathe. One person would turn the wood with a rope while the other used a sharp tool to cut shapes in the wood. Nowadays the number of American bowl turners has declined, making these handcrafted wood bowl designs harder and harder to find,  especially in the popular Black Walnut wood.
