Alvarado Street Bakery is located just north of San Francisco in the beautiful wine country of Sonoma County. For over 30 years Alvarado Street Bakery has been a leader in producing healthy, organic whole grain breads. Here in Northern California, we run our own fleet of trucks servicing all major supermarket chains as well as smaller health food stores and natural food markets.

And is there a story behind the cat on the sign? Back in the days of yore, they had a bakery cat that lived in and around the bakery. Her name was Greta and she was part of our hippie organic pest management program (we have changed and improved tremendously over the years and are very proud of our current food safety/hygiene program!). Greta used to sleep on the bags of flour right below the Alvarado Street sign. She lived a full life and is now immortalized on all of our packaging.

Bread for a year! Yes, 52 loaves of yummy, nutritious bread from Alvarado Street Bakery! This is how it works. Alvarado Street sent us a coupon book that has tear outs for the 52 loaves that you will then use at Whole Foods, Safeway, Sunflower, Albertsons or any market that carries Alvarado Street bread, and voila- there you have it. This was VERY generous of them, and we appreciate it.
