About the Artist
Sergio Mooro's art career had illicit beginnings. When he was a child, Mooro drew on the pages of his father's beloved Encyclopedia Britannica. After Mooro recovered from the inevitable punishment that ensued, he decided to cultivate his artistic talent in a more mainstream way. Mooro earned a M.A. from the College of Fine Art in Madrid, where he specialized in painting. Mooro knew that painting for a living would be the only way he could truly feel fulfilled, so he dove head first into the fine art world. At first, making a living painting was difficult, and it involved many changes in locale;Mooro moved between Geneva, Los Angeles, and Madrid. Mooro eventually settled in London in 1988, while collaborating with the Nicholas Treadwell Gallery.
Mooro's paintings are inspired by the human form, energy, and spirit; his paintings show the play of abstract forms with the human body. Mooro's pieces are unique in that he uses a variety of different tools and techniques to create the finished product.
