Description

 Still life by London-born artist, MARION LERNER-LEVINE, grandmother of PS 261 student. Lerner-Levine  studied painting, etching, lithography and wood engraving at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She has shown at Prince Street Gallery in New York since 1971. She has also been associated with the Katharina Rich Perlow, Gil Einstein, Aaron Berman and Orion Editions galleries, in Manhattan, and the Bill Coffel gallery and gallery 107, in Brooklyn.  Her exhibitions were reviewed by, among others, Carter Ratcliff in Art International and Art News, Lawrence Alloway in The Nation, and Lawrence Campbell in Art News. Grants from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Gottlieb Foundation, and the Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters followed. She has shown at numerous galleries and museums in U.S. and Europe and her works are in over 150 private and public collections.
