Description

Where's the best barbecue in Brooklyn?  BrisketTown? Fette Sau? Fletchers?  Those are all great places, but if you've never had mesquite smoked pork ribs on the Wiley-Schwartz's pellet grill, you don't know what you're missing.  Andy will prepare St. Louis style ribs, dry rubbed, smoked at 180 degrees for five hours, and then lightly sauced in the final cooking stage.

This all happens outside on their custom-made deck, overlooking a three-tiered koi pond.  If this doesn't sound perfect enough, the event will also be a chance to sample Brooklyn's finest whiskeys.  There are some great locally-made artisenal whiskey's being brewed right here in Brooklyn, including:

Kings County Distilleries Corn Whiskey and Bourbon, which makes handmade moonshine and bourbon out of the 113-year-old Paymaster Building in the Brooklyn Navy Yard;

Widow Jane Whiskey which is distilled in Red Hook, Brooklyn with the pure, sweet water of the Widow Jane Mine whose limestone quarry was essential in building both the Brooklyn Bridge and the Empire State Building,

Breuckelen Distillery, which distills and bottles Whiskey and Rye and gin out of a small plant in Sunset Park.

You will hear about how these products are made, what distinguishes them from one another, and, if you can keep that straight after several samples, we will mix up some cocktails and see how they hold up with other spirits and mixers.
