Description

Beautiful afghan that commemorates the significant historic events of Vicksburg’s heritage.  Scenes depicted on the afghan include Biedenharn Candy Company museum, Old courthouse museum, Cedar Grove bed and breakfast, the National Military Park archway, authentic canon used during the Civil War, the Mississippi River bridge, several gorgeous magnolias and historic churches.


Vicksburg: Sentinels of Stone reveals the breadth and scope of Grant's siege and the city's stalwart defense in eighty-five color photographs of the monuments in the Vicksburg National Military Park. Timothy T. Isbell is a photojournalist with the Pulitzer-Prize-winning Sun Herald in Biloxi, Mississippi. He is also a Knight Foundation/National Endowment of the Arts recipient.  He devoted a decade of work to produce this pictorial account of the Siege of Vicksburg.
