Prayer flags, inscribed with auspicious symbols, invocations, prayers, and mantras, are planted outside homes and places of spiritual practice for the wind to catch and carry the blessings they hold. They are said to bring happiness, long life and prosperity to the flag planter and those in the vicinity.

Each of these prayer flags from Radiant Heart bears a different design. The 100% cotton flag is printed two times using the woodblock technique. All edges are hemmed and there are cloth ties along one side for attaching the flags to poles. The five flags are in the colors of the Buddha families: blue, white, red, green, yellow. Along the other side there are five multicolored streamers printed with mantras to enhance the power of the prayers. 

The prayers on the prayer flags are as follows:

• White: Purification of Karma -Vajrasattva


• Red: Wish Fulfilling Prayer- Sampa Lhundrup


• Green: Compassion Prayer - Praise to the 21 Taras


• Yellow: Victory over Obstacles - Gyaltsan Semo
