1.5L Magnum of 2011 Dutton-Goldfield 'Emerald Ridge' Vineyard Pinot Noir signed by winemakers Steve Dutton and Dan Goldfield.

The long, cool 2011 season brought out the wonderful berry focus of this classic Green Valley offering. It’s a wine that loves to breathe in the glass, and clearly one that will age well for at least a decade to come. Upon first pouring, the juicy raspberry and sweet cranberry fruit is the most obvious impression; but with a little time the deep black cherry and blackberry, along with toffee and violet overtones, emerge. In the mouth, the fine tannins support classic Bing cherry and sweet blueberry fruit (aah! the mythical blueberry). The wine provides an enticing combination of perceived sweetness, crystalline focus, and lively freshness. In the finish, the fresh berries and blueberry toffee keep you coming back for more. There is almost no food that wouldn’t be enhanced by this offering, but try it with some fresh salmon or a grass fed beef fillet.

Emerald Ridge Vineyard rolls to the east off the top of this ridge just outside the town of Graton, giving it the perfect aspect for pinot noir in this neighborhood. The east slope and well drained Goldridge soil produces pinot with conentrated blackberry fruit, supple tannins and elegant balance.
