Description

1 colorful Nepalese shawl.

Hand-printed on soft 100% cotton fabric, Dambar Kumari is a unique Nepali printing technique that has been used in Nepal for centuries. Dipped in ink—mostly red and black—woodblocks are used for printing cloth. The printed designs primarily consist of floral motif, based on native plants of Nepal—giving the Dambar Kumari a distinctive character.

This D. Kumari Khasto is a typical Nepalese shawl created using the traditional Nepali woodblocking technique. It is used by adults and children/babies alike. Babies are wrapped in the Khasto to keep them warm and cozy and can be used as a swaddle. When in Nepal, you are likely to see men and women both use the Khasto on chilly Nepalese mornings as they go about their daily activities. The Khasto has many uses as either a blanket or a shawl.
