Description

Winning bidder will receive a beautiful pair of LuLu Smith Colored Resin and Sterling Silver earrings.

About LuLu Smith:

"I am primarily a colorist who has a passion for jewelry and its sensual urge to be worn on the body."

Lulu Smith discovered resin while taking a workshop at Penland School of Craft in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina in 1997.  Originally, Smith was attracted to the material because it seemed a wonderful subversion of the norm, challenging mainstream notions of what was beautiful and valuable.  When she realized that the material gave almost complete control over the outcome of color, the artist was hooked.

In 2005, Lulu Smith's jewelry became more strongly focused on design and line, in part due to the imaginative line drawings of her young daughter. Lulu Smith is interested in how symbols and patterns, when paired with color, can create whole new ideas -- depending on their mix.

Lulu Smith's work appears in 500 Bracelets , 500 Necklaces, 500 Earrings and The Art of Jewelry-- Plastic and Resin, all published by Lark Books.
