Chef Aliya Leekong has traveled to over 30 countries in the last 10 years seeking to enhance her already eclectic cooking style that began with her multi-cultural upbringing. Daughter of Indo-Pakistani and Tanzanian immigrants, she attended the French Culinary Institute and went on to work in various major New York City Restaurants such as Per Se, Jean Georges, Devi, and Bati, an Ethiopian Restaurant in Brooklyn. Chef LeeKong is now Culinary Creative Director and a chef at Junoon, a modern Indian restaurant in the Flatiron district, and her first cookbook, Exotic Table, will be released this Fall.
