Description
Up to eight people can participate in a Saturday, June 1, hike at this 234-acre park. The hike is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Four-mile trek features an elevation gain of 1,000 feet. There's a good bet you'll be huffing and puffing on the mile-or-so climb up the mountain, but the exertion is worth it. From the summit you'll be treated to spectacular, panoramic views of the Hudson River, Catskill Mountains and Shawangunk Mountains. Trails take you past expansive sections of blooming mountain laurel, the Beacon Reservoir and a cascading waterfall. You’ll also receive an eco-friendly Scenic Hudson tote bag as well as two Scenic Hudson caps.
Scenic Hudson is the largest environmental group focused on the Hudson River Valley . A crusader for the valley since 1963, Scenic Hudson’s highest priority is its campaign to Save the Land That Matters Most – a collaborative effort to preserve 65,000 acres of land that meets the state’s highest standards for scenic, ecological and agricultural significance.
Special Instructions
Hike is restricted to Saturday, June 1, beginning at 10 a.m. and concluding at 2 p.m. Scenic Hudson must be contacted by Friday, May 3, to arrange details.
