With her background information, you'll be better able to understand this lovely work and the others in the exhibit The Girl with a Pearl Earring: Dutch Paintings from the Mauritshuis. Ms. Gertmenian and her AP Art History students, Emily Crowder and Virginia Girard, will be available to answer your questions as you visit the exhibit.  Afterwards, enjoy lunch with the other attendees.
