Description
After a light continental breakfast, you will enjoy sessions with Dr. Brian Kobilka, the 2012 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry; Dr. Gary Steinberg, Chairman of Neurosurgery; and Dr. Robert Jackler, Chairman of Otolaryngology at Stanford. Dr. Kobilka will provide a lay explanation of cell receptors, which is the research that won the Nobel Prize. Dr. Steinberg will discuss the intersection of medicine, engineering and technology through the field of clinical neurosciences. Dr. Jackler will share the work being done to cure hearing loss at Stanford. Stanford Hospital & Clinics (SHC) President and CEO Amir Dan Rubin will share insights on health reform, operating a hospital in today’s environment and current SHC priorities. Attendees will also be mesmerized by a life-sized anatomy table and a visit to the largest air ambulance service in the region, Life Flight.
This Count-Me-in is open to Menlo Seniors and young alumni, as well as parents.
