Description
You are bidding on a set of 2 cards, 1 blue butterfly card and 1 orange butterfly card. Created by renowned HGA Master Weaver Lillian Whipple, these hand-woven silk butterflies are mounted on high-quality blank note card with matching envelope. The front of the card has an embossed border and the cards are 4.25" high x 5.5" wide and are suitable for framing. Few of them ever actually get mailed, but most often are framed, as a special gift for yourself or others. Make lovely wall decorations when framed together or individually!!
The motifs are woven in 240/2's silk, which is about the size of hair!!!! The structure is called "taqueté" and Lillian Whipple is the recognized master of this technique! These are highly collectible and have recently sold for over $100.00 per card.
Please Note: The colored borders surrounding the pictures of the cards ARE NOT on the card, it is an accent background to highlight the cards.
