In 2004, Trent started her landscape architecture firm. Since then she has completed projects across the country, both residential and commercial. Her design approach is perceptive, working to deeply understand her clients' needs and unique lifestyle to ensure the vision of each project is completed.

Her designs begin with a respect for the natural qualities of a space, and, when possible, they make use of modern, green technologies. She also works to design meaningful landscapes to provide individuals with a sense of belonging. To her, belonging is the unique spirit of a place. It is where the family feels comfortable or the employees feel at peace. This is manifested in the way she uses scale, enclosures, textures and light.

Trent lives in Newburyport, Massachusetts, with her husband, three children, and dog. In her free time, she is found gardening, horseback riding or watching her three girls in pink tutus perform their latest dance to a Broadway show tune.
