Enjoy up to four nights, mid-week at a historic townhome located at the former Fort McKinley.
Diamond Cove is a private community a short ferry ride from of Portland, Maine. The island is serviced by Casco Baylines, allowing easy access to Portland’s Old Port for shopping, fine dining and other services. While staying at Diamond Cove, you will have access to all homeowner amenities, including private beaches, a swimming pool, fitness center and a restored duckpin bowling alley (used by soldiers stationed at Fort McKinley, which was completed in the early 1900's).
Other amenities include a general store, spa and a restaurant, Diamond’s Edge. For boaters, there is a deep-water harbor with a marina offering transient dock space.
The townhome comfortably accommodates 6-8 people and offers:
- open floor plan on the main level
- private covered porch, perfect for relaxing
- three second-floor bedrooms - one with a queen bed, a children's room that sleeps 4, and one with a full bed
- finished basement consisting of a small sitting area, a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a private bath

"What a great place! Our family enjoyed a wonderful week on Great Diamond Island. On Diamond Cove there is always something to do with the option of doing nothing at all. It is a Beautiful Coastal escape - serene island getaway in Maine. It's a short ferry ride or water taxi from downtown Portland. You can enjoy staying on the island your entire trip or go in town to see all Portland has to offer. Diamond Cove has become our favorite New England summer destination!
The historic homes on the island are part of Fort McKinley, built in the 1890's, restored to classic style, updated with modern conveniences. We hiked around the island and explored the five private beaches, including a beach covered in sea glass. The island is absolutely kid friendly, no vehicles allowed, just golf cart and bicycles. The old parade ground has a beautiful swimming pool, tennis, indoor basketball, workout room, historic duckpin bowling and a movie room. The resident assistants are fantastic and they'll transport your items from the dock to the house. Whole Foods in Portland delivers to the island - get your groceries for the week and they will be waiting for you at the house." AH, Brookwood Parent

No pets and no smoking inside unit. Diamond Cove is a car-free community, park your car in Portland at the ferry terminal. Courtesy shuttle service on island.
