Susan Medyn has been making fantastical watercolors for over 35 years. She is inspired by her love of color, a sense of playfulness and whimsy and a passion for painting.  This piece is titled "They Fly Through The Air".  It is Ink and Watercolor on Arches watercolor paper, 7" x 10" framed in a maple frame and matted with a 4 ply rag around it.  Outer dimensions framed are approximately 17" by 14". 

Her paintings tell stories about life set in landscapes made up of fantastical creatures and fauna. People are incidental to the work. Over the years her work has changed from a more totemic nature to one page stories. Her work has a wonderful whimsical quality to it.

Susan Medyn has been called a primitive artist and a visionary artist.  She has exhibited throughout the northeast and currently resides between Arlington, MA and Tiverton, RI.
