Ellis, born in 1960, is an American news photographer and founder of the photo agency Newsmakers now owned by Getty images. He has photographed images all over the world and has been nominated three times for a Pulitzer Prize for his work photographing Tiananmen protests in China, the Gulf War and the collapse of the communist regime in Afghanistan. His work has been published in many magazines and newspapers world wide.
