Jim Ferreira

      Born in England to Portuguese parents, Jim immigrated to the United States when he was ten.  He spent the remainder of his youth in Newark, New Jersey before enlisting in the U.S. Navy and eventually settling in Connecticut.  Jim became interested in photography as a child when he spent summers helping his uncle, a nationally renowned photographer and owner of a successful photo studio in the Ferreira family’s hometown of Moura, Portugal.  Jim’s first public photo endeavor was his high school year book, which led to his occasional role as wedding photographer for friends.  Jim resides in Gales Ferry with his wife Shiala.
