Located two blocks from UC Berkeley campus, the landmark Hotel Shattuck Plaza has returned to Downtown Berkeley after an extensive multi-million dollar renovation.  The city's oldest hotel has become the San Francisco Bay Area's newest boutique hotel.  Hotel Shattuck Plaza is home to FIVE: A Modern American Bistro & Bar, featuring familiar favorites reinvented.

Staff at the front desk and housekeeping staff are extremely responsive and welcoming.

Wifi is free and good.

The room on the outer side is spacious and well appointed. Lovely decor and super bed.

Rooms in inner circle are smaller but quieter.

We had no extreme noise issues in terms of being above Shattuck Ave.

Kerrigan machine with dark roast K cups? Hallelujah.

Bart train  is just on the next corner.
