La Note is an authentic Provençal restaurant in the heart of downtown Berkeley. Traditional breakfast and lunch bistro fare are combined with rustic Provençal dinners in a warm and charming atmosphere. The restaurant's owner Dorothée Mitrani-Bell, a graduate from UC Berkeley's Environment design program (1994), won an award in excellence in 1998 for "outstanding storefront improvements" and rehabilitation of it's beautiful 1875 building. Her daily goal is to raise her children all the while exposing them and the community to the convivial experience of sharing a wholesome fun and colorful meal reminiscent of her childhood.

One of my favorite brunch spots in Berkeley. I've been here for brunch many times and it's always been amazing. Quaint, cozy atmosphere and we've never had to wait more than 15-20 minutes for a table. Service is always top notch and the food is wonderful. Super fresh, well seasoned, and delicious.Prices are very reasonable.

I always get the les oeufs lucas (scrambled eggs) with goat cheese and it comes with roasted potatoes (love the whole roasted garlic in that dish) and tomatoes. Husband loves the gingerbread lemon pancakes and pain perdu is SO good. I'm a big fan of their citron presse because its just fresh squeezed lemon juice and you can add your own sugar and water to taste. Also, the grapefruit juice and mimosas are fresh and yummy.
