Reel Stories Media Camp gives high school-age women the storytelling and production skills to tell stories that inspire them, while incorporating media literacy and leadership workshops. This camp empowers them to broadcast their stories to the world. This one week camp is lead and taught by current female leaders in the media industry. Utilizing accessible technology and distribution of their stories through local film festivals and social media, the Reel Stories Media Camp demonstrates to the campers how important and easy it is to be an active participant in the media. During the course of the week long camp girls will work in teams to write, direct and edit their own short film. Camp Reel Stories will be held from July 22nd-July 26th at Oakland School of the Arts and is open to girls entering high school and in high school.
