This is a rare opportunity to spend an afternoon with a physician specialist! Dr. John Pippen, Jr., M.D., FACP, is a cancer and blood specialist, and the winner of this item will spend an afternoon getting a great look at what a career as a cancer specialist is like. Start off attending a lecture on a cutting edge science topic. From there, you will go on a tour of the brand new Charles A. Sammons Cancer Center. Dr. Pippen will then take the student to the teaching microscope to explore the world of hematology, looking at blood smears and cancer slides from case files. This is an experience that is only open to our Lakehill students, and this is a must-bid item if your Lakehill student is considering a career in medicine. Dr. Pippen is a medical oncologist and the chair of the Breast Tumor Site Committee at Baylor-Sammons Cancer Center. Dr. Pippen has lectured all over the world on breast cancer related topics, and in the past several years has traveled to Hong Kong, China, Japan, India, Korea, and Europe for major presentations.
