Students were asked to start by drawing a simple line drawing of their own homes, which was outlined in glue to make a raised line. The drawing was covered in foil and the students added detail and pattern using a dull pencil, exploring embossing and debossing of the material. The shoe polish dulled the foil to look more like tin, and helped emphasize all the thin line detail. Together, each unique house forms “Our Neighborhood” – each featuring different shapes, styles, details and patterns.
