Ms. Shannon’s Art piece marries two assignments this year, Genealogy and Washington History. Ms. Shannon’s students took their parent(s) birth place maps and combined them with images of Seattle and Washington monuments.   Using  3 colors of acrylic paint, the students painted over the maps, creating the perfect combination of past family history with current images of what makes our  city and state so memorable.   10 out of 23 parents in Ms. Shannon’s class are foreign born, giving this piece an International flair!
