Gianluca Benigno is Associate Professor at the Department of Economics at the London School of Economics. He is currently a visiting Professor at the Economics Department at Princeton University.

He gained his PhD in International Macroeconomics from the University of California at Berkeley. He has published on exchange rate economics,  international monetary policy cooperation, monetary and fiscal policy. He has been a consultant at the IMF, a senior economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and an economist at the Bank of England.
