A farm to table resteraunt serving brunch and dinner.

Kismet was founded in February 2006 by Crystal Maderia & business partner Alanna Dorf, after a fateful walk through Montpelier. We walked, fantasizing and brainstorming about what kind of business we could create to fill the soon to be vacant take-out restaurant space at 207 barre street. Both single mother’s in our late twenties, with 2 children each, and having each devoted segments of our lives to travel, agriculture, nutrition, homeopathy, and permiculture, we quickly developed a business plan that could nurture our children and community while paying homage to our agricultural & holistic roots. We decided to offer a simple and organic menu of local foods- all to be prepared and served while the children were in school! Thus the kismet brunch menu was born! Over the years, Kismet Cafe, as well as Kismet Catering enjoyed great success. In 2009, Crystal became the sole proprietor and in 2010, Kismet moved into our current State Street address, expanded our farm to table menus to include dinners and a full bar, and broke ground in our restaurant garden plot.
