Description

Nurture this baby for just a little while and see witness the beautiful fruits it will yield.  Yellow Buckeye flourishes in rich coves of the southern Appalachians and is only found outside the mountains in rich bottoms and moist uplands as a small tree and shrub. The flowers are slender and trumpet-like and yield a most interesting fruit, which is a smooth-surfaced capsule 2 to 3 inches long, bearing one to two large, brown, shiny nuts 1 1/2 to 2 inches wide. Seeds contain a poisonous substance known as aesculin and should not be ingested but are perfect for the family game "conkers".  Children will delight in these smooth, gorgeous chestnuts and the family will love playing conkers on a Friday night!

This Live Event Item offers Absentee Bidding.
