This stunning sculpture was created by EWS student Eli Pfister for his 8th grade project. Eli skillfully transformed sheets of stainless steel into this fanciful three-dimensional creation with 6,000 degrees of heat and careful bending, shaping, grinding, cutting, and welding. After this intricate process, Eli carefully heated the steel with a torch to bring out cobalt blue, burnished bronze, and coal black. The beautiful colors are permanent, so this vibrant hummingbird may be displayed inside a building or out in a garden.
